Who We Are?

KAWAC was incorporated in 1980 as a not for profit organization in Chicago, Illinois and was founded by first generation Korean American women leaders in the community.

KAWAC provides workshops and programs for all ages of Korean American women in various areas including helping them to discover their own identities and in pursuing their dreams. Our programs are made possible by volunteer members who help to enrich other women to improve their lives by sharing their experiences and talents.

Membership

KAWAC is a volunteer-based organization. The association provides various programs and services that help foster a sense of community through social, networking, cultural, educational, and skill development. Please consider joining us as a member.

KAWAC membership is open to all women of Korean origin or women married to men of Korean origin residing in the Chicago metropolitan area.

Membership Dues are $10/year (July-June) and Board membership dues are $100/year.

Dues can be paid on application or upon renewal. Members are informed of the organization’s activities and upcoming events via newsletters and other methods of communication.

To become a member, please contact us by submitting your information on the  Contact Us page, or via email (kawaoc@gmail.com).

Checks can be made payable to KAWAC with your full name and contact information and mailed to 9930 Capitol Drive Suite 101 Wheeling, IL 60090.
